‘Duet’, 34in x 14in, Alkyd & Oils on ply panels (Framed)
“Working from my studio in Falmouth mainly with acrylics and primarily self-taught, but also having studied abstract coastal and still life painting at The Penzance School of Art, I am constantly inspired by Cornwall and it’s iridescent coastline. Often my sense of blueness of the sea and the ocean is evident throughout, and through my work I am trying to express, not just my environment as I see it, but also what I feel about it. This is my representation and interpretation of the land I grew up in.
My style is constantly (r)evolving, and exploring, derived from a combination of memory, experience and imagination and arriving as if by accident. Creating images that, often, are very specific and at other times, varyingly abstract, always anchored by the subconscious influence of Cornwall.
